Team timber seized from smugglers in Tamsi and Talamadugu mandals
Adilabad: Sleuths of a Task Force team and foresters jointly arrested six persons for allegedly smuggling team timber in different villages of Talamadugu and Tamsi mandals on Saturday. Teak timber worth Rs 2.25 lakh and a four-wheeler were seized from their possession. Another accused is absconding.
Task Force Inspector E Chandramouli said that the accused were Guggilla Posetti, Guggilla Dharmaraju and Koyarkar Vaman, a native of Ghotukari in of Tamsi mandal, Sriramojuvari Kishtanna, a resident of Pippalkoti in Jainanth and Nalganti Ganganna from Adilabad town and Kumra Ravi belonging to Jhari in Talamadagu mandal.
The six were detained during surprise raids, carried out by both the sleuths of the Task Force and officials of the Forest department, in several villages of Tamsi and Talamadugu mandals on Friday night, following a tip.
The accused were handed over to the Forest department for taking further action.
Tamsi Sub-Inspector K Divyabharati and her counterpart of Talamadugu Md Arif, foresters V Ravinder, G Chinnaiah, Ahmed Khan, Taskforce, members of Task Force Sk Tajoddin, MA Kareem, Syed Rahat, Hanumanth Rao, Ramesh Kumar, Prem Singh, Mangal Singh and Thakur Jagan Singh took part in the raids.
