Amaravati: Six people died after a car in which they were traveling collided with a truck coming in the opposite direction at Singanamala mandal in Anantapur district, police said.

The victims were returning from Tadipatri town in Anantapur District after attending a programme by ISCON, they said.

As per the initial reports, it appears that the truck driver, after noticing the car, may have tried to halt the vehicle by applying brakes as there are skid marks on the road, they said.

The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post mortem and investigation is on, the officials added.
