Six Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrender before police in Kothagudem
Six Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrendered before Kothagudem police and CRPF officials under Operation Cheyutha. They received immediate financial aid and assured rehabilitation. With this, 320 Maoists have surrendered in the district since January, reflecting growing success of the rehabilitation drive.

Kothagudem: Six Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrendered before Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju, CRPF 81 and 141Battalion officials here on Thursday.
Usoor LOS Commander-Pamed Area Committee Madakam Deva alias Dinesh, party member of Pamed LOS Madavi Joga, militia members Podium Deva, Madakam Idumas, Madakam Muka and Madivi Itha were the surrendered Maoists.
They decided to leave the CPI (Maoist) Party and lead a peaceful life with their families after learning about the facilities provided by the State government and the police department under ‘Operation Cheyutha’, the SP said.
As immediate assistance, the six surrendered Maoists were given Rs. 25,000 each. The remaining amounts according to their ranks would be credited to their bank accounts after obtaining their Aadhaar card and bank account details.
As many as 320 Maoists surrendered to the district police since January this year. Four DVCMs, 22 ACMs, 41 PMs, 120 militia members, 35 RPC members, 47 DAKMs/ KAMSs, 30 CNM members and 21 GRD members were among the surrendered naxals.
On September 13, a Central Committee member Potula Padmavathi alias Kalpana, alias Sujathakka surrendered before the DGP. As part of her rehabilitation she was provided with 25 lakhs on the day of her surrender, Rohith Raju said.
Underground Maoist members should abandon violence and choose a peaceful life. All the surrendered Maoists would be provided rehabilitation facilities. The government and police department were committed to the overall development and welfare of tribal people, the SP added.
