Khammam: Six persons of a family tested positive for the Coronavirus at Sabbanapalli village of Mulakalapalli mandal of Kothagudem district on Friday. District Collector MV Reddy directed the district health officials to visit the village and submit a detailed report on the primary contacts of the infected persons, their health condition and measures taken to control the spread of the virus.

He said as per primary investigation a person who attended a family function at Eturunagaram in erstwhile Warangal district recently, showed symptoms of the Covid-19. He was tested positive to the virus and five others in the family have also been infected with the virus later.

Reddy told the health and revenue officials to declare the place where the infected persons live as a containment zone and conduct Covid-19 tests for all who were in contact with the infected persons. Penalties should be imposed on those who were not wearing face masks.

He stressed on the need of ‘Bhadram Bhadradri’ teams to be reactivated to contain the spread of the Covid-19. As there were reports of second wave of Covid-19 in other states, persons with travel history to Maharashtra and Karnataka have to undergo home quarantine, he added.
