Hyderabad: Six TRS candidates have been unanimously elected for six of 12 MLC seats falling under Local Authorities’ Constituencies. The returning officers concerned have declared the results following the completion of deadline for withdrawal of nominations on Friday. The polling in the remaining six constituencies will be held on December 10, followed by counting of votes and declaration of results on December 14.

Former MP and sitting MLC K Kavitha was the first candidate to have been elected unanimously from Nizamabad Local Authorities Constituency among the 12 MLC seats. Former Minister Patnam Mahender and Shambipur Raju, both sitting MLCs from Rangareddy Local Authorities Constituency, were also elected unanimously. The nominations of independent candidates who contested against them, were rejected for lack of relevant documents and errors in nominations during scrutiny held on November 24.

On Thursday, Warangal sitting MLC Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy along with Kasireddy Narayanareddy and Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy from Mahabubnagar were also elected unanimously. The independent candidates who were contesting from these seats, have withdrawn their nominations.

Hence, the polling will be conducted for six MLC seats i.e. one seat each in Adilabad, Nalgonda, Medak and Khammam along with two seats in Karimnagar Local Authorities Constituency on December 10. On behalf of TRS, Dande Vittal from Adilabad, MC Koti Reddy from Nalgonda, Thatha Madhu from Khammam, and Vonteri Yadava Reddy from Medak along with T Bhanuprasad and L Ramana, will contest the biennial elections.

Meanwhile, K Kavitha who was elected as Nizamabad Local Authorities Constituency MLC for second consecutive term, thanked Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrashekhar for giving her an opportunity to serve the people of Nizamabad constituency. She also thanked all the elected representatives who supported her candidature. She stated that the welfare and development programmes being implemented by the Chandrashekhar Rao government ensured her unanimous victory in the polls.
