Mahabubabad: In a shocking incident, a six-year-old boy was attacked with a knife by unidentified miscreants at Narayanapuram village in Kesamudram mandal during the early hours of Thursday.
The boy, Manish Kumar, was asleep at home with his parents Pandula Upender and Sirisha when the assailants entered the house and inflicted a deep, bleeding wound on his neck. The attack is believed to have occurred while the family was fast asleep.
Hearing the child’s cries, his grandmother, Mangama, woke up and alerted the boy’s parents. He was initially rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to the District Government Hospital in Mahabubabad for further treatment.
Mangama told the media that Manish’s younger brother had died after falling into a water tank six months ago, and now someone had attempted to kill Manish.
Following instructions from Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Kekan, a massive manhunt has been launched by the police to trace the culprits.
