Six-year-old boy drowns in Godavari at Pusur in Mulugu
A six-year-old boy drowned in the Godavari at Pusur in Wajedu mandal, Mulugu, on Thursday. Hemanth reportedly slipped into the river while answering nature’s call near a lift irrigation scheme. His body was recovered after a search operation.
Mulugu: A six-year-old boy drowned in river Godavari at Pusur of Wajedu mandal in the district on Thursday. According to sources, the deceased boy Kummari Hemanth (6) of the village, along with his friend Revanth, went to attend nature’s call near the lift irrigation scheme built on the Godavari.
Hemanth was said to have accidentally slipped and fell into the Godavari. He drowned and died at water level at the spot. Revanth, who was on the bank, ran home in fear. As the boy was missing as it was time to go to school, the family members searched the village.
When they found out that Revanth had gone with him, they called the boy and inquired. When he said that he had fallen into Godavari, a search operation was launched and Hemanth’s body was recovered. The local police registered a case and took up investigation into the incident.
