Six-year-old boy, grandparents killed in accident in Vikarabad
The victims were identified as Y.Mallikarjun Reddy (60), wife Rajyalaxmi (56) and grandson Devansh Reddy, all residents of Saketh Nagar in Vikarabad.
Hyderabad: An elderly couple and their six-year-old grandson died after the car they were traveling in was hit by another car near Manneguda in Chengomul of Vikarabad district here on Monday morning.
The victims were identified as Y. Mallikarjun Reddy (60), wife Rajyalaxmi (56) and grandson Devansh Reddy, all residents of Saketh Nagar in Vikarabad.
Police said the mishap occurred at 8 am, when the victims were proceeding from Kodangal towards Hyderabad. When they reached near Dharani Cotton Mill near Chittampally, one Mohd Ghouse, who was driving from Hyderabad towards Kodangal, lost control of the steering wheel and the car jumped the road median, crashing into the other car.
“Mallikarjun Reddy and Devansh Reddy died on the spot while Rajyalaxmi died later in hospital,” police said, adding that their driver Santhosh Reddy, who was injured, was being treated.
The police have registered a case and are investigating.
