Hyderabad: A six-year-old boy spent harrowing moments inside a lift after it got stuck between floors at an apartment complex at Shantinagar in Masab Tank on Friday evening.
As per available information, the incident occurred when the boy was getting down from the third floor of the building in the elevator alone. Due to an alleged technical fault, it suddenly stopped midway. The boy, who was in a panic state, screamed and alerted the apartment residents.
The apartment residents who noticed it immediately informed the police who then alerted the fire department personnel and GHMC’s DRF personnel.
All the teams reached the spot and cut the elevator grill doors with the help of gas cutters and pulled the boy out. All through the rescue operation which lasted for more than an hour, officials continuously supplied oxygen to the child and made his parents keep talking to him and give assurance and prevent him from slipping into shock.
The boy, who lost consciousness, was taken to Niloufer Hospital for treatment. Officials say that the elevator stopped midway due to a technical fault.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the doctors said that the boy’s health condition was stable.
It was immediately not clear how the child landed in the lift alone.
