SCR team engaged in rescue works at the tunnel collapse site.
Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has joined the rescue operations which are under way at the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapse site in Nagarkurnool district.
The State government teams with the help of Indian Army, Navy, Rat Miners and NDRF teams have undertaken extensive operations to rescue eight workers who are trapped inside the tunnel.
In this regard, the Nagarkurnool district administration sought the help of SCR to clear the debris of steel and iron which has been hindering the rescue works at the site.
“SCR quickly responded to the call and deployed teams of metal cutting experts and technicians along with required machinery from Secunderabad, Lallaguda and Rayanapadu to help in the rescue mission,” said a railway official.
At present, the SCR is at the forefront of the operations to clear the debris and accelerate the mission to rescue the workers and provide relief.
