SLBC will be finished even if BRS leaders jump into projects, says Revanth

At a public meeting in Devarkonda, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on the BRS, vowing that the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) and Dindi projects would be completed before the Congress government’s term ends.

Nalgonda: Continuing his aggressive attack on the BRS, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday claimed that the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel works would be completed before the Congress government’s term ends, ‘even if BRS leaders jump into Srisailam or Nagarjunasagar projects’.

“Their bodies will be fished out and SLBC will be completed. Similarly, the Dindi project will also be completed by the end of this term,” he said at a public meeting at Devarkonda.

Revanth Reddy said the SLBC work began in 2005 with an allocation of Rs 2,000 crore and 30 km of tunnel was dug. He alleged that the previous government deliberately sidelined the project for 10 years. When eight workers lost their lives after the tunnel collapse in February this year, BRS leaders took ‘devilish pleasure’, he alleged.

Mocking the BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao’s confidence, he said it was ‘painful to witness his status’.
“In the past, he used to hold meetings with Ministers and MPs. Yesterday, he met only sarpanches and ward members and is still confident of returning to power,” he said.

Meanwhile, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the SLBC tunnel collapsed and eight persons died due to “the evil eye cast by a few unidentified wicked persons”. Earlier, he also appealed to the Chief Minister for funds.

“As you release funds for Kodangal constituency, please consider Devarkonda as a second Kodangal and release funds. There are no roads, hospitals or facilities here,” Venkat Reddy urged the Chief Minister.
