Hyderabad: Naman Dhir’s remarkable five-wicket haul powered Punjab to a narrow seven-run win over Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Rajkot, Gujarat, on Sunday.

Anmolpreet Singh’s 60, combined with vital contributions from Ramandeep Singh’s unbeaten 39 and Nehal Wadhera’s 31, helped Punjab post a competitive total of 196/6 in 20 overs. Ravi Teja and Ajay Dev Goud picked up two wickets each for Hyderabad. In reply, Hyderabad fell short despite impressive knocks from Rohit Rayudu (56) and CV Milind (55), as Naman’s brilliant bowling restricted them to 189 in 20 overs.


Cooch Behar Trophy

Tamil Nadu secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Hyderabad on Day 4 of the Cooch Behar Trophy fourth-round clash at the ECIL Ground on Sunday. Resuming the day at 22/0, Nawin’s unbeaten 51 helped the team reach the target in 32.4 overs with seven wickets in hand, earning them six points in the process.

Brief Scores: Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Punjab CA 196/6 in 20 overs (Anmolpreet Singh 60, Ramandeep 39 no, Ravi Teja 2/49, Ajay Dev Goud 2/38) bt Hyderabad CA 189 in 20 overs (Rohit Rayudu 56, CV MIlind 55, Naman Dhir 5/19, Jass Inder 2/44);

Cooch Behar Trophy: Hyderabad 222 & 194 in 79.1 lost to Tamil Nadu 294 in 99.3 overs & 124/3 in 32.4 overs (Nawin 51no, Ahwinan Ram 2/28).
