Smriti shatters Harmanpreet’s record, scores fastest ODI century

Rajkot: Stand-in India captain Smriti Mandhana scored the fastest ODI hundred for India during the third ODI against Ireland at the Niranjan Shah stadium in Rajkot on Wednesday.
Mandhana’s 10th century came in just 70 deliveries. The 28-year-old broke the record of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who scored a century off 87 balls against South Africa in 2024.
The left-hander got to her 50 off just 39 balls. Her century had nine fours, four sixes.
Earlier in the day, India won the toss and elected to bat against Ireland in the third and final women’s ODI here on Wednesday.
India have rested Saima Thakor and Priya Mishra with Tanuja Kanwar and Minnu Mani coming in their place in the playing XI.
Ireland are unchanged. The hosts have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
