Karimnagar: Social activist and National Youth awardee Mohammad Azam donated motivational and English grammar books to the students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Sapthagiri Colony in Karimnagar.

On the occasion of National Children’s Day, Azam conducted an awareness programme and donated books worth Rs 5,000 to students on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Azam said that he had decided to spend some amount for charity purposes from the cash award (Rs 50,000) which he got as part of the National Youth award. In order to inculcate the habit of reading among the students, he had decided to donate books and advised the students to develop reading skills, which would help them to gain confidence and content with moral values.

KGBV Principalm Srilatha appreciated the gesture of Azam, who has been involved in social service activities and stood as an example of a youth icon in present society. KGBV staff Uma Bharathi, Shravani, Shailaja, Aravinda and others were present.
