Software engineer dies by suicide in Miyapur, police probe stress angle
A 31-year-old software engineer was found dead at his Miyapur residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Police said initial indications point to work-related stress. An investigation has been launched to examine professional and personal reasons behind the incident
Hyderabad: A 31-year-old software engineer died by suicide at his residence in Miyapur on Wednesday, with initial indications allegedly pointing to severe work-related stress.
The victim, identified as Satish Kumar, was employed with a reputed IT company in Gachibowli. He hailed from Tillakuppa village in Amalapuram district of Andhra Pradesh.
Satish had been living in Miyapur and was married about a year ago. His wife had recently gone to her native place in Andhra Pradesh for the Sankranti festival.
According to the police, Satish did not come out of his room for a prolonged period, raising suspicion among family members. His younger brother forcibly opened the door and found Satish hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta.
On being alerted, the Miyapur police reached the spot and took up an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
Police said they are examining all possible angles, including professional stress and personal reasons.
