Software engineer gets life imprisonment in Patancheru dowry death case

A Sangareddy court sentenced software engineer Guvvala Rajasheker Reddy to life imprisonment in a 2020 dowry death case. His wife allegedly died by suicide following harassment for additional dowry despite receiving Rs 28 lakh and 80 tolas of gold at marriage.

Hyderabad: A court in Sangareddy has sentenced software engineer Guvvala Rajasheker Reddy (43) to life imprisonment in a dowry death case of his wife registered in Patancheru.

The court found him guilty under Section 304(B) IPC and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000, while acquitting three other accused.


The case relates to the 2020 death of his wife, who died by suicide following continuous harassment for additional dowry, despite receiving Rs 28 lakh and 80 tolas of gold at the time of marriage.
