Solar power to be supplied to agriculture pump sets: Bhatti Vikramarka
Understanding the sentiments of the local people, the government has decided to establish an 800 MW thermal power unit in Ramagundam by using super critical technology, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said.

Peddapalli: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said solar power would be supplied to agriculture pump sets and would be implemented on a pilot basis in a few select villages. The State government would set up solar pump sets in these villages, he said, adding that the objective was to help farmers earn money through electricity besides crops.
Addressing a public meeting in Dharmaram and Peddapalli town, Vikramarka said 20,000 MW of power would be generated with the help of green power, solar power, floating solar and pump storage energy by estimating the power demand by 2030. On the crop loan waiver scheme, he said the government had deposited Rs.18,000 crore in bank accounts of farmers within a short period and that all crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh would be waived. He also promised to meet the water needs of SRSP canal tail-end farmers by completing the Pathipaka reservoir.
