Somnath Ghosh named India coach for World Cup
Hyderabad-based coach Somnath Ghosh has been appointed as India’s coach for the ITTF World Cup in Macau and the World Team Championships in London. He thanked the federation and highlighted his trainee Akula Sreeja’s inclusion in the squad.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based table tennis coach Somnath Ghosh has been appointed as the coach of the Indian team for the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup being held in Macau from March 31 to April 5.
Somnath, who has mentored the likes of Olympian Akula Sreeja and S Fidel R Snehith, has also been selected as the coach for the 100th ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships finals scheduled to be held in London from April 28 to May 10.
In preparation for the World Championships, the following training camps are scheduled: SAI Centre, Bangalore from April 13 to 19; Sheffield (London) from April 20 to 26.
Reacting to the appointment, Somnath said, “Happy to be the coach of the Indian team for two key tournaments in which my trainee Akula Sreeja is one of the team members.”
He thanked the Table Tennis Federation of India and the Telangana State Table Tennis Association for their support and the recognition accorded to him.
