Hyderabad: India’s premier professional wrestling competition, PWL, has announced that the Sony Sports Network will be the official broadcast partner for the highly anticipated 2026 season. The league returns in January 2026 after a seven-year hiatus, reimagined with a refreshed vision, strong athlete-first principles, and a renewed commitment to showcasing elite wrestling talent to a global audience.

Under the broadcast agreement, Sony Sports Network will bring live telecasts of all PWL matches to households across India through Sony Sports Ten 4 and Ten 5 TV Channels. Coverage will also be available for streaming on Sony’s OTT platform, Sony LIV, ensuring fans can follow every moment of the action on TV and digital platform.

The 2026 PWL season will feature six city-based franchise teams, Delhi Dangal Warriors, Tiigers of Mumbai Dangal, Haryana Thunders, Punjab Royals, Maharashtra Kesari and UP Dominators, competing in a dynamic and competitive format designed to elevate the sport’s profile and deliver edge-of-seat excitement for fans. Matches will include top Indian wrestlers and international talent, blending Olympic-style competition with innovative league presentation.

The teams had roped in a total of 63 foreign and home grapplers, from a list of over 250 wrestlers hailing from 16 countries spending in excess of INR 11cr in the player auctions on Saturday.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sony Sports Network, one of the most respected sports broadcasters in the country to bring the Pro Wrestling League back into living rooms nationwide,” said Akhil Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Pro Wrestling League.

“This collaboration is a major milestone in our mission to grow wrestling’s appeal, celebrate its athletes, and build a sustainable future for the sport in India and abroad,” he said.
