South Central Railway cancels trains on Howrah-Tikiapara route

To ensure the safety of the passengers, Train No.08645 (Howrah to Hyderabad) and 02245 (Howrah to Yesvantpur) scheduled for July 30 has been cancelled.

Hyderabad: Due to water logging at Howrah Yard and Tikiapara Yard of South Eastern Railway, the authorities at South Central Railways have decided to cancel a few trains running on the route.

To ensure the safety of the passengers, Train No.08645 (Howrah to Hyderabad) and 02245 (Howrah to Yesvantpur) scheduled for July 30 has been cancelled. Four other trains on the route, Train No. 07064 (Secunderabad to Manmad) scheduled on July 31, Train No. 07063 (Manmad to Secunderabad) and Train No. 08646 (Hyderabad to Howrah) scheduled on August 1 and Train No. 02704 (Secunderabad to Howrah) scheduled August 2 have also been cancelled.


Ticket Checks

Meanwhile, the Secunderabad Division of the SCR undertook a massive ticket check on July 29, from 6 am to 8 pm. The intiative was taken up by the authorities to curb ticketless, irregular travel and un-booked luggage. The drive was not only to plug leakage of revenue but also to ensure comfortable and safe journey of bonafide rail passengers.

The drive was conducted under the overall supervision of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division, along with 83 ticket checking staff and seven RPF personnels. During the drive, 632 persons were found travelling without ticket and seven were found carrying unbooked luggage.

During this drive, 29 express trains and other passenger trains were checked and an amount of Rs. 3,07,910 was realised.
