South Central Railway earned a record Rs 602.06 crore from scrap sales in 2025–26, surpassing the Railway Board’s Rs 510 crore target. Over 1.32 lakh metric tonnes of scrap were sold through e-auctions, marking the highest revenue from scrap in SCR’s history.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has earned a record Rs 602.06 crore from scrap sales during the financial year 2025-26, surpassing the Rs 510 crore target set by the Railway Board, officials said on Wednesday.
According to railway officials, SCR sold 1,32,583 metric tonnes of scrap through e-auction, ensuring transparency and supporting the Swachh Bharat Mission by keeping railway premises clean.
The earnings are over Rs 100 crore higher than last year’s Rs 501.72 crore, marking the highest scrap revenue in SCR’s history.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava appreciated the staff and officials.
