Hyderabad: South Central Railway had the measure of Central Tax and Customs 82-59 to clinch the Legends Basketball Tournament at the CCOB basketball courts.

Leading 51-26 at half-time, SCR outplayed Central Tax and Customs players. Former international Vinay Yadav and Rajat along with Merugu Vijay Kumar played a fast game in the first half with their accurate long range shots to keep the Tax and Customs in the hunt. However SCR turned the table as they scored 14 points in succession.

Vijay turned out a high shooting percentage from long range and with the outlet passes received scored from fast breaks. Santosh and Raj, controlling the boards at both ends, towered against their opponents and tipped in a couple of baskets as the losers left far too many gaps in the keyhole.

The second half saw both teams trying to match each other as the result seemed a foregone conclusion with the huge lead SCR recorded prior to the cross over. The scoring pattern was quite different in the half as few good moves were seen from both sides and as the match neared regulation time, SCR maintained their lead to retain their position as the top team in the game in Telangana.

Nikhil Sai of Sanathnagar Playground was adjudged the MVP of the tournament.
