Hyderabad: Considering the prevailing weather conditions resulting from Cyclone Montha, the South Central Railway (SCR) has appealed to passengers to undertake train journeys only if unavoidable.

On Wednesday, the SCR issued a travel advisory for passengers in view of heavy rains, flash floods, and waterlogging affecting several parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and coastal areas following the impact of Cyclone Montha.

In particular, the Mahabubabad–Dornakal–Khammam section has been badly affected, disrupting train movement, resulting in some trains being cancelled, partially cancelled, diverted, or rescheduled. Officials said further changes in train operations may occur depending on the evolving weather situation.

To monitor the situation, war rooms have been set up at the divisional and zonal levels, and officials are working in close coordination with State authorities. Railway staff, Civil Defence personnel, and Scouts & Guides are also participating in rescue and relief operations in affected areas.

Passengers were also advised to check the current status of trains before travel through official sources such as IRCTC, NTES, RailOne, or by dialing 139 for real-time information. Regular updates regarding cancellations, diversions, and rescheduling will be provided via SMS alerts, as well as through media platforms.

To assist passengers during this period, Help Desks and Helplines have been established at major railway stations across all divisions.
