South Central Railway launches month-long Fire Safety and Anti-Smoking Drive
The Secunderabad division of South Central Railway is running a month-long Fire Safety and Anti-Smoking Drive until February 8, 2026. Over 160 inspections have been carried out, focusing on fire prevention, electrical safety, clear passages, and passenger awareness.

Hyderabad: As part of enhancing passenger safety, the Secunderabad division of South Central Railway is conducting a month-long Fire Safety and Anti-Smoking Drive between January 9 and February 8, 2026.
So far, 160 inspections have been carried out across trains, stations, yards, and coach maintenance facilities by multiple departments. Two cases have been registered for fire safety and smoking violations. The drive focuses on preventing the carriage of inflammable materials, ensuring electrical safety and maintaining clear coach passages.
Railway authorities are also checking fire extinguishers and fire detection systems, while creating awareness among passengers and staff.
