South Central Railway transforms 3,730 units under Swachhata Hi Seva campaign
South Central Railway transformed 3,730 cleanliness target units under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, surpassing its target. More than 21,000 participants joined the drive, while 20 Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs benefited 813 contractual staff across its jurisdiction.

Hyderabad: As part of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, the South Central Railway undertook an extensive cleanliness drive across its railway stations, trains, railway offices, colonies, health units, and other railway premises. The zone laid special focus on strengthening public participation, cleanliness and sustained Swachhata efforts across the railway ecosystem.
During the campaign, the zone transformed 3,730 cleanliness target units across Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Nanded Divisions and workshops of the zone surpassing the target set by Railway Board. Nearly 21,458 participants took part in the cleanliness campaign across the SCR jurisdiction and 20 Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs (health camps) were conducted benefiting 813 contractual staff.
The SCR is observing ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ campaign from October 1 to 15 with a focus on achieving visible improvement in cleanliness across all railway premises with special attention on solid waste management. Various activities are being organized including ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, ‘Say No to Plastic’ apart from awareness through Flash Mobs, Nukkad Nataks.
