Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Superintendent of Police Nitika Pant distributed blankets to elderly people and volleyball kits to youngsters in the remote Jodeghat village in Kerameri mandal on Monday, as part of a community outreach programme.
Pant said the police department has laid special focus on the protection of people living in interior parts of the district and is determined to resolve challenges faced by the villagers. She advised residents to be cautious of narcotic substances and urged them to share information on the movement of strangers with the police.
Earlier, the IPS officer paid homage to the statue of tribal legend Kumram Bheem at the Kumram Bheem memorial in the village. She also enquired about the traditions and culture of aboriginal tribes by speaking to elders of tribal communities. Tribal elders felicitated her on the occasion.
