As the doctors, healthcare workers, government officials and municipal corporation employees battle Covid-19 in their own way, an unsung hero, Dr Maheshwaram Narahari, an artist par excellence, is silently doing his bit.
He has a number of credentials in his name at various records. The latest one that he is working on is an entry into the Guinness World Records. For this entry, Dr Narahari hosted a 65-hour-long non-stop painting marathon where he expressed his views on coronavirus through his art on a 3.27m × 2.20m canvas.
This is not the first time he has expressed his views on Covid-19. Earlier this year, Dr Narahari had spread the social message for spreading awareness through his art. He drew 119 paintings that portrayed the struggle of frontline workers and also included social messages for people.
He mentioned in an interview that this was his tribute to all the frontline workers fighting against Covid-19 relentlessly.Additionally, he has painted many miniature portraits of famous personalities, iconic monuments, buildings, and sceneries on over 100 nails and was acknowledged by the Indian Book of Records in 2019.
An inspiration to his students, he has carved many budding artists into wonderful painters. The fragrance of his art is also spread far and wide by his students who take pride in being trained by him. Dr Narahari’s mantra and preaching is that one should be able to express his/her feelings through colours; after all, colours make everything beautiful.
