Special Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a meeting with district officials in Khammam on Friday to review the arrangements for Podu Action Plan implementation.
Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao intends that all poor people engaged in podu cultivation must be helped with Recognition of Forest Rights (ROFR) pattas, said Special Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari.
She held a meeting with district officials here on Friday to review the arrangements made to issue pattas to podu cultivators in the district. The podu farmers have to be rehabilitated on government land or provided a livelihood scheme wherever pattas could not be issued, she said.
Shanti Kumari appreciated District Collector VP Gautham and other officers for making elaborate arrangements to implement Podu Action Plan and requested to ensure that maximum benefit was given to all the deserving poor.
The Collector informed the Special Chief Secretary that as many as 112 multi-departmental gram panchayat level teams have been formed and trained to provide all administrative support to Forest Right Committees. The formation of 125 Forest Right Committees was under progress.
A total of 10 senior district level officers have been appointed at mandal level and revenue divisional officers at division level to supervise and ensure the Podu Action Plan would be implemented as per the instructions of Chief Minister given at the Collectors Conference held at Hyderabad on October 10, Gautham noted.
Conservator of Forests D Bheema Naik, Bhadrachalam ITDA Project Officer Goutham Potru, trainee Collector B Rahul, Additional Collector N Madhusudhan, District Forest Officer B Praveena, RDOs MV Ravindranath and Ch Suryanarayana, Survey and Land Records Assistant Director, V Ramu, Tribal Welfare Deputy Director Krishna Naik and others were present.
Later in the day, the Special Chief Secretary held a similar meeting with Kothagudem District Collector D Anudeep, forest and revenue officials to review arrangements for Podu Action Plan implementation in the district.
