Specially-abled persons to get assistance soon: Koppula Eshwar
State government was spending over Rs 21 crore in distribution of aids and appliances, Minister said, adding that the beneficiaries were identified after they applied online

Hyderabad: Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar on Wednesday said that appliances and other aids would be distributed free to 14,000 specially-abled persons by this month end.
The State government was spending over Rs 21 crore in distribution of aids and appliances, he said, adding that the beneficiaries were identified after they applied online. The aids and alliances would be distributed to the beneficiaries at a grand event to be organised this month end.
IT Minister KT Rama Rao and other Ministers would be invited for the programme, Eshwar said. Battery operated wheel chairs, tricycles, laptops and 4G smart phones among other aids and appliances would be distributed.
The State government would also give Rs.1 lakh to those who married a disabled person as financial benefit apart from distributing Rs.51,000 each to as many as 600 beneficiaries with 100 per cent subsidy.
In Assembly constituencies, the MLAs concerned would distribute aids and appliances to the beneficiaries.
