Speed up ongoing nala works in Charminar Zone, says GHMC Commissioner

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan on Friday instructed the officials to speed up works pertaining to nalas and avoid inconvenience to the residents.

Accompanied by Yakutpura MLA Jaffar Hussain and MLC Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi, Karnan visited Moulana Ka Chilla nala and Ganganagar nala under Charminar zone and inspected the ongoing works.

The MLA explained to the Commissioner about the flood-affected areas due to nala overflowing during the rainy season. The project executive engineer, BL Srinivas, who was at the site, explained the progress of the nala works and said that over 70% of the works were completed and the remaining 30% balancing work will be completed soon.

As the water lines are on both sides of the Ganganagar nala, the Commissioner asked the maintenance wing and HMWSSB officials to clean the nala abutting area. Responding to a plea made by the local corporator regarding a nala to be built between Jahangir Colony and Moulana Ka Chilla nala, he asked the officials to prepare plans accordingly.
