Jagtial: District Collector G Ravi instructed officials to provide all facilities in paddy purchasing centres to ensure that farmers should not face any hardships.
The Collector made a surprise visit to paddy purchasing centres in Yashwantharaopet, Gopalapuram, Maddunur, and Sirikonda of Buggaram mandal, Kishanraopet and Endapalli of Velgatur mandal and Thimmapur, and Nerella of Dharmapuri mandal.
Ravi instructed officials to speed up the purchasing process for the convenience of farmers. Advising the officials to strictly follow norms, he wanted to purchase the crop which has 17 per cent moisture.
The purchased crop should immediately be shifted to rice mills, he said and instructed civil supplies department officials to arrange a sufficient number of lorries to transport paddy to rice mills.
While visiting PPC centres, he verified records being maintained in centres. He interacted with farmers to know their problems and instructed officials to solve their problems.
