Hyderabad: Anwar-ul-Uloom Degree College won the team championship in the Osmania University inter-college weightlifting championship at LB Stadium here.

The results: 60 kg:1. K. Mohan – City College (200 kg), 2. Mohammed Shoiabuddin – Lord’s College (95 Kgs) 3. Dhanush – A.V. College (90 kg).


65 kg 1.: M. Sujeet – Anwarul Uloom College (190 kg), 2. Sk. Mujtaba – M.J. College (80 kg), 3. Md. Ehtesham – Nawab Shah Alam College (40 kg).

71 kg Category 1. K. Karthik – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College (146 kg), 2. P. Ajay – GDC Khairatabad (145kg) 3. Syed Sufiyan – Nawab Shah Alam College (101 kg).

79 kg: 1. K. Abhinav – Anwarul-ul-Uloom College (160 kg), 2. P. Ramesh – A.V. College (120 kg), 3. B. Ajay – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College (107 kg).

88 kg:1st Armaan Ali – Lords College (125 kg) 2. Syed Mohammed Mahboob – Anwarul Uloom College (115 kg), 2. Md. Khan – Lords College (115 kg), 3. Syed Unaiz Ayaz – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College (112 kg).

Hyderabad suffers massive defeat against Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu & Kashmir recorded a thumping, 281-run win against Hyderabad in the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match at Jammu on Wednesday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 169 for seven in the second essay, chasing a mammoth target of 472, Hyderabad folded up for 190 with Abid Mushtaq claiming seven for 68.

Hyderabad now has 13 points from five matches with one win, one loss, and three draws to be fourth in the group, while J & K moved to the second place with 20 points from five games with three wins, one loss and a draw.

The scores: J & K 170 in 47.1 overs & 422 in 100.5 overs bt Hyderabad 121 in 39.2 overs & 190 in 57.5 overs (Abid Mushtaq 7/68).

Siddharth shines in Hyderabad win

C. Skiddharth Rao cracked a century (109 n.o., 186b, 14×4, 2×6) to help Hyderabad score a four-wicket win against Baroda in the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) four-day cricket championship at Vadodara on Wednesday.

The scores: Baroda 208 in 41.3 overs & 321 in 84.1 overs lost to Hyderabad 313 in 92 overs & 220/6 in 70.2 overs (C Siddharth Rao 109 no).

Karnataka wins by four wickets

Karnataka notched up a four-wicket win against Hyderabad thanks to Aneeshwar Gautam’s 100 in the BCCI Inter-State-A (under-23) one-day cricket championship fifth round match at Jaipur on Wednesday

The scores: Hyderabad 226 in 47.3 overs (Aman Rao 39, Vignesh Reddy 53, Nitin Sai Yadav 41, Manvanth Kumar 4/59) lost to Karnataka 227/6 in 42.5 overs (Sanjay Ashwin 51, Aneeshwar Gautam 100, K.P. Karthikeya 42).

Titans in quarterfinals

Titans scored a comfortable 87 – 60 win over Sanathnagar Playgrounds after leading 42 – 13 at halftime to enter the quarterfinals of the Level-I Annual League basketball championship for G M Sampath Kumar Trophy being held at YMCA Secunderabad.

Playing a fast-paced game aided with four three-pointers (three from Surya and one from Salman), Titan raced to a quick 19 – 7 lead at the end of 1st quarter. Titan continued the same tempo to score 13 points and restricted Sanathnagar PG to just six points as Titans led 42 – 13 at halftime.

After a change of ends, Sanathnagar staged a fightback with Shoaib and Tejendra combining well to score 21 points. However, Titans too scored 21 points as Titans led 53 – 34 at the end of the third quarter.

In the last quarter, Sanathnagar tried hard, scoring 26 points; however were unable to stop the Shooting of Titans as Titans tanked EIGHT 3-points to score a massive 34 points to take the match 87 – 60.

The scores: Titans 87 (Surya 25, Salman 16, Vignesh 15, Chris 15) bt Sanathnagar PG 60 (Tejendra 26, Shoaib 15, Sudershan 14).

Cantonment FC defeated Deccan Sporting FC 1-0 in the TFA B-Division Shivkumar Lal football league championship at Gymkhana Ground here on Wednesday.

Sai Satya scored the match-winner in the third minute of the match.

K. Arjun defeated Y. Jatin Reddy 7-6, 6-0 in the boys singles semifinal of the AITA Championship Series tennis tournament for boys and girls (under-14) at Sardar Patel Stadium in Khammam on Wednesday.
