Hyderabad: For the first time, Telangana Rifle Association (TRA) will organise the ‘Sports Shooting Leadership Conclave – 2026” on February 26 from 10 am at the TRA office in Banjara Hills here.
“The conclave aims to bring together eminent leaders, policymakers, sports administrators and distinguished officials to deliberate on the development, promotion and future roadmap of shooting sports in Telangana and across India,” according to a TRA release.
“The discussions will focus on strengthening grassroots participation, enhancing infrastructure, nurturing young talent, and aligning the State’s shooting ecosystem with national and international standards.
The key speakers include Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, President, National Rifle Association of India; Amit Sanghi, president, Telangana Rifle Association & senior vice president, National Rifle Association of India, Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari; Cyberabad Commissioner of Police M Ramesh, Advisor to State Government (Sports) AP Jitender Reddy, SATG VC& MD Sonibala Devi, and SATG chairman Shiva Sena Reddy.

Akhil wins title in Open Prize Money chess tournament
FIDE-rated Akhil Repalle of Hyderabad won the Open Prize Money chess tournament at A2H Chess Academy with 4.5 points from five rounds on Monday.
S Subba Raju, who tied with the winner, is placed second with 4.5 points, finishing by virtue of tie-break rule.
The winner got Rs 6,000, the runner-up Rs 5000.
