Hyderabad: GM Prraneeth Vuppala of Telangana won the Rouquetas Chess Festival title in Spain.

Prraneeth emerged winner in a field of 151 players from across the world with seven wins and a draw. He finished with 7.5 points to clinch the honours.

Cukorowsky Filip from Poland was second and third, respectively.

Sravan’s spell rattles Bihar, Hyd wins

Spinner G Sravan bowled an impressive spell of five for eight to help Telangana register a comfortable 25- run win over Bihar in a league stage match of the prestigious 19th edition of Rajiv Gandhi National T-20 Cricket Championship being organised by Cricket Federation of Hyderabad at Vijayanand Grounds, Hyderabad.

Earlier, former Indian captain and Telangana Minister Mohd Azharuddin and Mahesh Kumar Goud, TPCC President, inaugurated.

The scores: Telangana 107/7 in 15 overs ( Ahmed Hussain 30, Aabhijay 22 no, Vickey Anand 4/11) bt Bihar 82 in 13.4 overs (Goteti Sravan 5/8).
