Hyderabad: Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud felicitated international swimmer Goli Shyamala for her achievements, at his camp office, Hyderabad on Thursday.
Shyamala completed a 36 kms swim from Catalina Island to Los Angeles in the most dangerous, extremely cold water Pacific Ocean and received a certificate in swimming adventures.
She revealed that she would be aiming to cross the second longest channel Molokai Kaiwi 46 km in the Pacific Ocean in the United States of America next.
Shyamala was the second woman swimmer to make history by crossing the Palk Strait 30km in the Indian Ocean between India and Sri Lanka.
Minister congratulated her and asked her to swim in the seven oceans in the world and bring fame to the Telangana State and the country by excelling in the field of swimming at the international level.
