Hyderabad: A spotted deer that ventured into Nallagandla lake from the Kancha Gachibowli forest area remained stranded on a rocky island in the waterbody for two days.
Alerted by locals, forest officials along with University of Hyderabad representatives inspected the spot and sought the help of an NGO for rescue. However, they eventually decided against direct intervention, opting instead to allow the animal to return on its own.
The deer walked back into Kancha lands in the early hours of Thursday. Locals said spotted deer have strayed into the lake at least three times in recent months, particularly after the government cleared parts of the forest area.
