Hanamkonda: SR University, Warangal, conducted a 12-hour night hackathon for B Tech first-year students.

The event was conducted by the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CS&AI) at the university campus from April 3, 8 pm to April 4, 8 am. The event witnessed the participation of over 2,000 students, making it one of the largest student innovation events conducted by the university.

The event was supported and mentored by over 100 faculty members, ensuring continuous guidance and evaluation throughout the night. The hackathon aimed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and real-time application of programming skills among first-year students.

Dean, School of CS&AI, Prof Dr Sheshikala Martha, Head of the Department Dr Ch Sandeep, Associate Head Dr Suresh Kumar Mandala, faculty coordinators Dr Sridevi Chitti and Vijay Kumar B monitored the event.

Conducting such a large-scale overnight event for first-year students helps build confidence, technical skills and collaborative spirit right from the beginning of their academic journey, said Dr Martha.

Dr Sandeep noted that the hackathon provided a platform for young minds to think creatively and work on real-world problems. Such initiatives were essential in shaping future-ready engineers.
