Girl students celebrate Bathukamma as part of ‘Traditional Day’ at SR University in Warangal
Warangal: The students of SR University showcased their artistic talents at ‘Traditional Day’ titled Navadhara-24 celebrated with on-stage and off-stage performances on Friday on the university campus.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, said the university vice chancellor Dr. Deepak Garg.
Addressing students he said the primary objective of the cultural event was to bring together students from different clubs as well as to bring out their skills and talents.
The university registrar Dr. R. Archana Reddy cultural programmes would foster friendship and team spirit among students. The LMCC and cultural club presented two dance performances, followed by a drama skit by the drama club.
An ‘Open Mic’ session where students expressed their thoughts and creativity in a freestyle format was presented besides a ramp walk in which students dressed in traditional and modern attire represented various cultures.
Girl students celebrated Bathukamma on a grand note showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Telangana, she said.
Events like poetry competition, tug of war, treasure hunt, arm wrestling, push-up challenge, Russian Roulette, a story writing competition, e-sports competitions and others took place at the festival, informed Dean (student welfare) Dr. A.V.V Sudhakar.
The student council president, Sashi thanked the students for their active participation and faculty for their support.
