Sreeja recently won a bronze in the senior Nationals where she lost in the semifinals. She has consistently been performing well in the last few tournaments.

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Akula Sreeja continues to make impressive strides in the national table tennis circuit. Sreeja, who represents Reserve Bank of India, has become the No.1 women’s player in the latest Table Tennis Federation of India rankings. She sits at the top with 380 points.

Sreeja recently won a bronze in the senior Nationals where she lost in the semifinals. She has consistently been performing well in the last few tournaments.


Sutritha Mukherjee is seeded second with 340 points while National champion Manika Batra is at third with 300 points.

Coach Somnath Ghosh was elated with the latest rankings. “This latest ranking will be a big confidence booster to her career. She has been working very hard on her game and she has begun to show positive results,’’ he said.
