HYDERABAD: Sreenidi Deccan FC take on Churchill Brothers FC in the penultimate away game of the I-League Football Championship at Raja Panchayat
Ground in Goa on Sunday.
The Deccan Warriors played out a 2-2 draw against Inter Kashi in their last league fixture, while Churchill Brothers FC secured a 3-1 victory over their Goan rivals, Dempo SC.
Assistant coach Ishant Singh, who is currently in charge of the Deccan Warriors, said that they were not proud of how the season has gone for them.
“We want to compete at our highest level in the remaining three games and finish in a better position on the points table. The players are motivated to achieve the best possible results from tomorrow’s game and the final two matches of the season,” he said.
Winger Rosenberg Gabriel said football was always filled with ups and downs and that they always strove for success.
“In that regard, we haven’t had a good season. However, we are motivated and determined to finish the season in the best way possible. We will approach the remaining three matches with the goal of securing maximum points,” he said.
In the reverse fixture, the Deccan Warriors defeated the Red Machines 2-1 at the Deccan Arena.
