Hyderabad: Sreenidi Deccan FC will face Rajasthan United FC in their first match of the Indian Football League 2025–26 Championship Stage.
The match is scheduled to commence at 6:30 pm at the Namdhari Stadium in Sri Bhaini Sahib, Punjab.
In its final game of Phase 1, the Deccan Warriors suffered a tough 2–0 defeat away to Real Kashmir FC, whereas Rajasthan United FC won 2–1 away against Dempo SC. In their previous meeting during Phase 1 of the league, the Deccan Warriors were victorious with a scoreline of 2–1.
Speaking ahead of the match, head coach Carlos Vaz Pinto said, “Rajasthan are one of the best teams in the league; we respect them, but we believe that tomorrow we can win again. With all the teams fighting for maximum points in this Championship Stage, I think the approach of all teams will be a little different and that will allow us more space and more opportunities to hurt our opponent.”
Experienced goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh, who has been crucial between the sticks for the Deccan Warriors, further added, “In this Championship Stage, we are taking one game at a time and right now, we are fully focused on tomorrow’s game. We are going into the game with only one objective, that is to secure three points.”
