SRH v RR match: HCA clarifies cause of lighting glitch at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium
A brief floodlight outage lasting eight seconds occurred during the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on 13 April. The Hyderabad Cricket Association clarified that the issue stemmed from a fault in a specialised DMX device, not from the power supply.
Hyderabad: During the Indian Premier League match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on April 13 , two floodlight towers experienced a brief outage lasting approximately eight seconds.
“Upon inspection, both the generator’s electronic panel and the floodlighting panel were found to be functioning normally. The technical team identified the issue as a fault in a specialized DMX device that connects and controls the lighting network,” Hyderabad Cricket Association stated in a media release on Tuesday.
“The device was promptly reset, restoring normal operations. There was no interruption in power supply from Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited,” the release added.
“All systems are currently stable, and engineers along with operators are continuously monitoring the setup to prevent recurrence. We are also taking additional measures to further enhance the viewer experience,” the HCA stated.
“We sincerely thank the people of Hyderabad for their continued support,” the release said.
