Hyderabad: The calm and serene Muchintala village will be reverberating with vedic hymns and recitation of vedas as the 12-day Sri Ramanuja millennium celebrations and unveiling of “Statue of Equality” will commence from Wednesday.
The celebrations will commence with Shobha yatra, Vastu Shanthi, Rhuthvik Varana at 9 a.m. and followed by Ankuraarpana, a Vedic ritual before beginning the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Yagam at 5 p.m., JIVA campus, Sriramanagaram in Shamshabad.Over 5,000 Rhuthviks from across the country will be performing the Yagam in 1035 homa kundams at one main and 144 other Yagashala for universal well-being.
Elaborate arrangements, including deploying security forces, sufficient vehicles parking and provision of free food for visitors have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations.Already, 12,000 volunteers, including 15 teams from United States have arrived at the venue to support and coordinate the proceedings during the 12-day ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be unveiling the towering 216 feet statue of Sri Ramanuja on February 5. President Ramnath Kovind would unveil the 120 kg gold deity of Sri Ramanujacharya on February 12 at the venue.
As many as 108 Divya Deshas are constructed replicating the sanctum sanctorum, gopurams, kalashas and the main idol existing at the 108 temples across the country. People, who cannot visit the 108 temples across the country, can visit the 108 Divya Deshas and seek blessings.
Apart from the towering Statue of Equality and 108 Divya Deshas, a digital library is being set up. All the scriptures and their transliterated and translated versions will be made available to facilitate people understand real core of the topics using headsets.
Making use of technology, a 3D projection mapping is being set up with few stories of Sri Ramanuja’s life and different incidents to let people learn about the challenges he faced while fighting against inequality and promoting women empowerment.

-6.30 to 7.30 a.m. – Recitation of Ashtakshari Mahamantra japam
-9 am to 12.15 noon – Daily homams
-12.15 to 1 p.m. – Daily Purnahuti and Prasadam
-4.30 p.m. onwards – Daily homam begin in the evening
-5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. – Sri Vishnu Sahasranama recitation
-5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. – Message from chief guests
-7.30 to 8 p.m. – Live show of Sri Ramanujacharya
-8 p.m. to 9 p.m. – cultural activities
-8.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Daily Purnahuti in the evening
Arrangements
-5000 police personnel deployed
-10,000 vehicles parking provision
-At one time, 20,000 can have food. It will be served throughout the day.
-100 battery operated vehicles will be operated from Gate 1, JIMS to provide internal transportation
-A helpdesk is set up for visitors convenience
