Top-seeded Sri Sai Baswanth of Hyderabad won the Open prize money chess tournament at A2H Chess Academy, Kukatpally, scoring 4.5 points from five rounds. Kumaran Charan finished second. The winner received Rs 6,000 and the runner-up Rs 5,000

Hyderabad: Top-seeded Sri Sai Baswanth of Hyderabad won the Open prize money chess tournament at A2H Chess Academy, Kukatpally, with 4.5 points from five rounds.

Kumaran Charan finished second with four points.


The winner received Rs 6,000 and the runner-up Rs 5,000.

Final placings: 1. P Sri Sai Baswanth, 2. Kumaran Charan, 3. Akhil Repalle, 4. Srujan Keerthan Solleti, 5. Akshaya Sathi, 6. M Akshay Kumar, 7. K Perumallu, 8. Akavaram Aashish Reddy, 9. Azlan Khan, 10. Thota Jovenkataraman.
