SRU inks pact with NIT Warangal for research collaborations

The collaboration aims to strengthen the academic interactions and scientific information

Warangal Urban: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, and S R University (SRU), Warangal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to cooperate and collaborate with each other for academic and research purposes. The collaboration aims to strengthen the academic interactions and scientific information.

In a press note here on Tuesday, Prof GRC Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, SR University, said the MoU would help the faculty from both NITW and SRU to engage in collaborative research work as well as support and help each other in carrying research projects, developing joint project proposals to submit various funding agencies such as DST, DBT, UGC, AICTE, NRB, DRDO, etc. and any Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in connection with the joint projects shall belong to both the institutions. The research facilities at NITW and SRU can be utilised by the students and faculty of both the institutions.


Prof Reddy also stated that the MoU would provide an opportunity to students of SRU to visit NITW for 2-3 months to pursue summer internship work under the guidance of NITW faculty. Moreover, students of SRU can do B.Tech 4th year project work under the joint guidance of the faculty members from both the institutions.

NITW Director Prof N. V Ramana Rao said that the MoU would also provide an opportunity for academic interactions. NITW shall give a chance to faculty members of SRU to register for PhD in part-time/external mode. Furthermore, the instruments, equipment and other research facilities at NITW can be utilized by the faculty members of SRU for their PhD work.

NITW and SRU could support and help each other in the academic programs by conducting joint workshops, conferences, seminars, arranging short visits, guest lecturers and training programs for the faculty members and students in addition to that faculty shall share articles, publications, scientific information, patents information etc., for their academic needs.

The MoU was signed by Prof Ramana Rao and Prof Reddy in the presence of Prof CSRK Prasad, Advisor (CRRM), NITW, S Goverdhan Rao, Registrar, NITW, Dr R Archana Reddy, Registrar, SRU and Dr V  Mahesh, Dean, School of Engineering, SRU.
