Warangal Urban: Keeping in view the demand for the B.Sc in Agriculture course, the SR University (SRU) in Warangal is offering the B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture from this academic year (2020-21).

The total seats available in these colleges are around 650 and are not sufficient as more and more students are opting to pursue a degree in Agriculture. Many students are reportedly moving to the neighboring states such as Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and even to North India to pursue their graduation in Agriculture.

In this background,  SRU started the School of Agriculture and is offering B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture from 2020-21 academic year. The School of Agriculture located on a sprawling 150 acre campus which is equipped with various farm mechanization components like post harvest equipment, plant protection equipment, mini tractors, inter-cultivation equipment, power tillers, trans-planters and various tractor drawn implements. SRU Chancellor A Varada Reddy told Telangana Today that the university started this undergraduate course with the vision to impart quality agricultural education through experiential learning, enabling students to equip with the local needs as well as global agricultural needs.

“The Agriculture sector in our nation is facing a serious shortage of trained, quality human resources. B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture degree from SR University is a programme that has been carefully designed to change this statistic,” said the university Vice-Chancellor Dr GRC Reddy.
