Hyderabad: Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s tweet on Saturday received some distasteful comments from his followers. The ace director shared a fund-raising campaign asking people to donate to Ketto campaign for the treatment of the woman named Devika who worked as a co-ordinator for post-production work for ‘Baahubali’.
Rajamouli’s tweet reads, “Worked with Devika during Baahubali. She was the coordinator for many post production works. Her passion and dedication is unmatched. Unfortunately, she is battling blood cancer. I humbly request to donate funds to the Ketto Campaign shared below(sic).”
The campaign targets a whopping Rs 2.91 crore for the medical treatment. Soon after the tweet, the comments started pouring in. While a few responded positively doing their bit, a few of them preached to donate the money to the victim from his pocket as he earned a good sum from making ‘Baahubali’.
A user wrote, “Your intention is very good sir, but as a highest paid director in south india, arguably in India and of course you knew her too. Can’t you bear expenses for her whole treatment sir at least once in this lifetime?(sic)”
