Hyderabad: Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has said that the friendship between Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju, the characters played by stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan would be a fantastic combination to tell the fictional story of ‘Roudram Ranam Rudhiram’ (RRR) that he had visualised on screen.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, the director apologised to the media following the disorganised media event a couple of days ago here in the city. “We didn’t anticipate such chaos. Sorry for the way it was organised. It was meant for the media and there was utter chaos and had a tough time managing the crowd. We had to sack the event manager for it. Today, Alia Bhatt canceled her other commitments in Mumbai to attend the event here,” he added.
Alia Bhatt, who is playing the role Sita in the ‘RRR’, said she is grateful to be associated with the project and shared her experience working with stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR. She further explained how difficult it was for the whole crew and cast shooting during the pandemic while the world is going through personal loss.
“Amidst the pandemic, there was loss of livelihood, loss of time, loss of precious lives. So, working on the sets with safety protocols as well as maintaining hygiene was of paramount importance for everyone. Luckily, we completed it on time. It was an honour to be working with SS Rajamouli sir,” said Alia.
Jr NTR said actors live in hope. “There was a hope that we would tackle the difficult time during the pandemic. Like every living form on this planet, we actors too live in hope. The ray of hope moves us forward. That hope drove us to complete the project ‘RRR’,” he added.
SS Rajamouli said that he was unperturbed by what the world was going through during the pandemic, however the loss of lives made him a bit worried.
“It was a lesson of sorts from nature. It posed a question to us – for what we’re running behind? Since the whole world came to a standstill, it did not affect me personally. I had a great time enjoying it with my family and children. But the main concern was loss of lives. Entire film industry came to a grinding halt. I know we will be starting soon. So it was a brief pause but not a stop,” he explained.
