SSC student goes missing in NSP canal in Khammam

An SSC student from Edulapuram went missing while swimming in the NSP canal near Maddulapalli village, Khammam district, on Friday. The incident occurred when five friends entered the canal to celebrate a birthday.

Khammam: An SSC student went missing in NSP canal near Maddulapalli village of Edulapuram Municipality in the district on Friday.

According to sources, five students of Edulapuram, who are appearing for their SSC exams, went for a swim in the canal to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Among the five friends who went swimming, Puttabanthi Ramakrishna went missing as he had gone farther in the canal waters.

His friends Umesh, Varun Sandesh, Sandeep and Balaji could not rescue him as they did not know how to swim. On receiving the information, locals and family members rushed to the canal and initiated search operations.
