St. Francis clinches dominant win in basketball league

St. Francis Boys secured a commanding 61-34 win over Rovers in the Annual League Basketball Championship, dominating the second half with strong performances from Jackson, Nitish, and Peter

Hyderabad: St. Francis Boys scored an emphatic 61-34 win over Rovers after leading 24-19 at halftime in the Annual League Basketball Championship conducted by the Hyderabad District Basketball Association at YMCA Secunderabad on Saturday.

In the first quarter, Rovers, aided by four 3-pointers, kept pace with St. Francis, which mainly scored through drive-ins by Jackson, supported well by Ajaz, as Rovers took a 15-14 lead at the end of the quarter.


In the second quarter, St. Francis tightened the defense and quickly took the lead. By halftime, they were comfortably placed at 24-19.

After a change of ends, St. Francis consolidated the lead, scoring 13 points in both the 3rd and 4th quarters to win the match 61-34. Jackson (26 points), Nitish (16 points), and Peter (8 points) played well for St. Francis. Mahesh (12 points), Nithin, and Ganesh (6 points) played well for Rovers.

St. Francis Boys 61 (Jackson 26, Nitish 16, Peter 8) bt Rovers 34 (Mahesh 12, Nithin 6, Ganesh 6).

Titans 57 (Richard 11, Kunal 10, Salman 9) bt Rahimpura PG 29 (Ravi 7, Harish 6).

Osmania Medical College 76 (Bharatsimha 17, Navneet 15, Gautam 15, Sudarshan 15) bt KVBR All Staff 16 (Bhanu 6, Rohan 5, Vishwa 4).
